When Israel’s four biggest musical celebrities get together to record a song, you’ll probably want to pay attention.

Earlier this week, Israeli music fans began to see teasers on social media for a new track featuring Static and Ben-El Tavori, Eden Ben Zaken, and Stephane Legar. How’s THAT for a musical dream team?

This morning, the new song “Yassu” appeared on YouTube. In just a few hours, more than a quarter-million people have watched.

“Yassu” offers each of the artists plenty of screen time, and makes room for each singer to do what he or she does best. With lyrics by Static, Yarden “Jordi” Peleg and Stephane Legar and music by Static and Jordi, it’s a safe bet that “Yassu” will become a mega-hit in Israel in the very near future.

And of course, like most of Static & Ben-El’s previous offerings, it teaches us a new word in a foreign language. “Yassu” is a way of saying “hello” in Greek.
