To help promote their upcoming countdown of the songs of 5778, the folks at Galgalatz and Ynet compiled a few interesting statistics on the songs competing for the top spot this year.
- The songs with the most views on YouTube? 1. “Toy” by Netta Barzilai; 2. “Nevermind” by Dennis Lloyd; 3. “Shnei Meshuga’im” by Omer Adam.
- The longest song on the list? “BaSivuv” by Tuna and Tzlil Danin – 5 minutes, 13 seconds.
- The shortest? “Nevermind” by Dennis Lloyd : 2 minutes, 30 seconds.
- The oldest singer on the list: Boaz Sharabi, 71 years old.
- The youngest: Agam Buchbut, 14 year old.
- Nine songs on the list are covers of older songs, including “Hey Brother” by Gidi Gov and Red Band, “Etzel HaDoda V’HaDod” by Noa Kirel and Agam Buchbut, and others.
- A whopping 25 artists on the list got their start on Israeli reality TV shows.
- There are 13 artists on the list whose name begins with the letter “Aleph”, but none whose names begin with “vav”, “tzadi” and “kuf”.
- There are eight languages represented, including 15 songs in English, but also songs in Spanish, Arabic, French, Japanese and Sanskrit.
