Shlomo Artzi is most likely the undisputed king of Israeli music. So when he releases a new song, people sit up and take notice.
Yesterday, “Shlomo HaMelech” (“King Solomon”) released a new duet with Mosh Ben-Ari called “Mashehu Chayav Likrot” (Something Has To Happen). In just 24 hours since its release, the music video has been viewed more than 50,000 times on Shlomo Artzi’s YouTube channel.
An unusual pairing at first glance, but the two sound pretty good together! Besides, Shlomo’s been collaborating a lot in recent years – including recent duets with Avraham Tal, Yuval Banai, Yishai Ribo, Dikla, and Omer Adam, among others.
Reaction on YouTube has been generally positive. One comment read “Finally classic Israeli has returned. Between all the Omer Adam, Static & Ben-El, and Noa Kirel, it’s nice to hear a little of this.”
Do you agree? Like the new song?
