A roundup of five new Israeli songs released this week.
Some new Israeli songs we think you should know about this weekend. Be sure to listen for more brand new music on this week’s Israel Hour Radio podcast. Shabbat shalom from MyIsraeliMusic.com!
1. Mooki & Barry Sacharof – Min Atzvut SheKazo
One of the hottest Israeli singers of today, in collaboration with the long-standing “prince of Israeli rock”. An unlikely pairing, but it works. Mooki and Barry join together to produce a hot new song that’s sure to be a hit.
2. Moshe Peretz – Yaffa BeLavan
I love it when Israeli singers release songs specifically to be performed at Israeli weddings. But this one is different. It’s the song Moshe Peretz sung at the wedding, last week, of his younger brother, Nir. I wouldn’t be surprised if we begin to hear it sung under the chuppa throughout Israel all summer long.
3. Mergui – Ani Lo Ani
Mergui spent several weeks at the tippy top of the Israeli music charts earlier this year, with his mega-hit “HaZug HaZeh”. That song’s success turned Mergui into a household name, and now he’s hoping to keep his flame burning bright with the release of “Ani Lo Ani”. Will it work? Well, even if he becomes a “one-hit wonder”, he still has his relationship with Noa Kirel as a consolation prize.
4. Ma Kashur – Od Laila
My favorite new song of the week, Ma Kashur wonders what the ultimate Israeli song might sound like. So, as they prepare to write a new hit song, they “borrow” from virtually every Israeli singer out there. The result? A perfect melody and simple words – and an extensive listing of the most popular singers of 2019. A fun, memorable song.
5. Harel Skaat & Osher Bachta – Kulam Oto Davar
As far as I can tell, this was a song written by Osher Bachta for Harel Skaat. But when Harel met Osher, things changed quickly. “When I met Osher for the first time in the studio and we talked about the text,” Harel says, “I understood that we were experiencing feelings and thoughts that are similar. We come from different worlds, different homes, even slightly different cultures. But inside we go through similar experiences….I asked Osher to join me in singing the song together, and what fun that he agreed.”
