New Israeli Music Friday: 3.14.19

A roundup of five new Israeli songs released this week.

Some new Israeli songs we think you should know about this weekend. Be sure to listen for more brand new music on this week’s Israel Hour Radio podcast. Shabbat shalom from MyIsraeliMusic.com!

1. Rami Kleinstein – MiNishmati

Rami Kleinstein – MiNishmati

Full disclosure: I’m a big longtime Rami Kleinstein fan. I think the man is a talented singer, songwriter, musician, and all-around great guy. In this new song, it appears Rami is showing a bit of his spiritual side. That strategy served him well when he released “Matanot K’tanot” – a song that earned him fans across the religious spectrum. Will this new song have the same impact?

2. Maya Buskila – HaLev Sheli Omed Limchira

Maya Buskila – HaLev Sheli Omed Limchira

Fresh off her impressive 4th place finish in “HaKochav Haba”, and shortly after leading the cast of “Evita” in Hebrew, Maya returns to the soundtrack of Israel with the first single from her upcoming fifth album. It’s been a while since we’ve seen new music from Maya. Nice to have her back on the Israeli music scene.

3. Eli Botner & Aviv Aloosh – Kol Yom

Eli Botner & Aviv Aloosh – Kol Yom

After treating Israel to what many considered to be the hit of the summer (“HaChi Karov Eilayich“), this hard-rockin’ duo realized they were on to something. So a few months later, they got back together to wake us up from our winter slumber. The music video, meanwhile, brings awareness to the deaf among us, who may not be able to hear what we say – but enjoy great music nonetheless. Just watch and you’ll understand.

4. Shiri Maimon – Neshima

Shiri Maimon – Neshima

Is it bad if I involuntarily transform into a giddy fanboy when I hear Shiri Maimon belt out the lyrics to a brand new song? Seriously, this woman’s voice does dangerous things to me. Shiri Maimon is truly a superstar, and IMHO, she deserves all of the attention, fame, and fortune that come her way. “Chicago” in Tel Aviv is a runaway success, and this new song is a ton of fun. I say, good for her.

5. Kobi Marimi – Home

Kobi Marimi – Home

Eurovision songs come and go…but has there ever been a song that’s been under such an intense microscope like this one? With Israel entering this year’s contest as the defending champion, the anticipation for this song was at a fever-pitch…and then, when it was released, EVERYONE had a strong opinion. That’s the thing with this song…you either love it or hate it. Where do YOU stand on Israel’s 2019 Eurovision entry?
