New Israeli Music Friday: 2.15.19

A roundup of five new Israeli songs released this week.

Some new Israeli songs we think you should know about. Be sure to listen for more brand new music on this week’s Israel Hour Radio podcast. Shabbat shalom from MyIsraeliMusic.com!

1. Omer Adam – Chaverot Shelach 2

When you’re as big as Omer Adam, you can release sequels to your own songs. Filmed in the Tel Aviv Art Museum, the music video featuring model Ruslana Rodina is a “continuation” of the original song of the same name. Doesn’t matter. Omer Adam could sing a restaurant menu and it would still be a hit.

2. Miri Messika – Okinus

Miri sounds great in this follow-up to her successful hit “Mefached Alayich“, with a steamy new video to boot. Truth is, ever since Miri wowed me in her concert in New York last fall, I’d enjoy most anything she comes out with. Expect this song to rank high on our music charts very soon.

3. Noa Kirel – Drum

If I had to guess, I’d bet Noa Kirel is cooking up something big. Like, “get-out-of-Israel” big. The steamy 17-year old “Israel’s Got Talent” judge released this English-language song this week, and it’s already been featured in an Israeli TV commercial I saw. I have a feeling Noa’s hoping this video is seen by the right people, who can take her career to the next level. (Some Israelis, though, are not impressed – like the guy in this video.)

4. Esther Rada – Rig’ei Kesem

Unfortunately, Esther Rada has never been much on my radar screen, primarily because she previously sung mostly in English. But my parents, who live in Israel, recently saw – and enjoyed – Esther in concert, and suggested I take a second look. This new song reminds young parents to make the most of their day-to-day time with kids…a reminder that’s very much welcome in today’s hectic world.

5. Eli Botner & Meshi Kleinstein – Otobus Acharon L’Haifa

OK, so the song is a few weeks old already, but I’m pretty sure this is the first time we’ve posted it here. And the video clip just came out this week, so it’s fair game. And I love the song. Eli Botner wrote a few songs for Rita over the years, and got to know her daughter, Meshi. It turned out she was a heck of a singer, too…so he asked her to join him in a new song. If you haven’t yet heard it…don’t miss this one!
