A roundup of five new Israeli songs released this week.
Some new Israeli songs we think you should know about. Be sure to listen for more brand new music on this week’s Israel Hour Radio podcast. Shabbat shalom from MyIsraeliMusic.com!
1. Avraham Tal – Li Zeh Lo Maspik
This song, a nice change in style for Avraham Tal, is most notable for it’s odd music video. While I’m sure there is an artistic rationale behind this video, it’s just not clear to me.
A naked woman covers herself with mud from head to toe.
The mud hardens.
She washes it off.
Can someone explain?
2. David Broza – Mezach
If you’re not a native Hebrew speaker, here’s a new Hebrew word to add to your repertoire: “Mezach” means “pier”. Don’t forget…there’ll be a quiz next week. Anyway, many in the US are already on a David Broza “high” nowadays, after seeing him in California, Boston, or New York. Hold on to the feeling a little longer with a brand new song that’s totally Broza…the voice, the guitar, the total package. You’ll love it.
3. Yehuda Poliker – Tavo
You’ve already heard this on our podcast, but ICYMI…well, it’s good to have Yehuda Poliker back. The very cool stop-motion video makes this complete package a great addition to the current Israeli music landscape.
4. Mosh Ben-Ari – Matanat Shamayim
A pleasant new ballad from Mosh Ben-Ari. He’s in good voice, and the melody is pretty…but overall, the song is not that memorable in my opinion. Take a listen and judge for yourself.
5. MaZeZe feat. Eden Hasson – Gam V’Gam
I just learned about “MaZeZe” the other day, when I stumbled upon a new video they did with Sarit Hadad. To celebrate the secular new year, they put together an odd music video covering “One Kiss”, the Galgalatz #8 pick in their top international songs of 2018 (you can watch the video here). Apparently, this duo runs around in rabbit masks while filming strange videos. I don’t get it, but I’m happy to enjoy the wacky videos and upbeat music while it lasts. This time, they’re teaming up with Eden Hasson, one of today’s hottest Israeli artists.
