October is International Breast Cancer Awareness Month. But for most, the occasion simply comes and goes without much fanfare.
Koolulam is out to change that.
The social musical initiative wants to spread the word about the importance of early detection. So they shared the message in the only way they knew how: they got LOUD.
Partnering with “One In Nine“, an organization dedicated to raising public awareness of breast cancer, Koolulam invited 2,000 people to sing an explosive cover of Jennifer Lopez’s “Let’s Get Loud”.
They’re encouraging people to test for breast cancer beginning at age 40, because, as they wrote in the video, “breast cancer doesn’t wait until age 50.”
As usual, the video is powerful and inspirational. However, a quick glance through the comments on YouTube shows the impact Koolulam truly has.
One commenter, Angel, writes, “Who woulda thought JLO’s Let’s Get Loud could feel so inspiring!? I mean, the lyrics are beautiful but it wasn’t till this video till I actually LISTENED to every single lyric… every single word.” “A concert for the soul,” writes Jackie. Juan writes, “I never thought that ‘Let’s Get Loud’ would be this inspiring!”
The power of music, the power of unity, the power of the human voice. Let’s face it: Koolulam is making a difference in this world. Watch and be inspired.
