A Tiny Teaser for Israel’s 2019 Eurovision Song
So yeah, we’re talking about the Eurovision again, but ‘tis the season. With Israel trying to retain its Eurovision crown for a second straight year, anticipation for this year’s entry is at a fever pitch right now. Well, have no fear. Israel today released a tiny teaser video featuring a whole 22 seconds of Kobi Marimi’s new song, “Home”. The teaser tells us…absolutely nothing. Judge for yourself.
Well, we don’t have to wait much longer. The full version of “Home” will debut this Sunday, March 10. What do you think of what you’ve heard so far? Be sure to let us know in the comments.
Opening Night for “Chicago” in Tel Aviv
Speaking of high anticipation, I feel like we’ve been talking about this forever – and it’s finally here. The international tour of Chicago, starring Shiri Maimon as Roxie Hart, finally celebrates its opening night in Tel Aviv this evening. They’ll be performing the show in English in Tel Aviv’s Heichal HaTarbut from tonight until March 16th, and producers say they’ve sold 30-thousand tickets to the event! They released a short clip from the final dress rehearsal, earlier today.
After two weeks performing on Broadway earlier this fall, Shiri told Channel 12 news that it means the world to her to bring the production home to her many fans in the land of Israel.
New Song for Eden Ben Zaken: “Tagid Li Je t’aime”
And finally, speaking of Israeli music divas, Eden Ben Zaken released a new song this morning. “Tagid Li Je t’aime” is the name of the new single by, arguably, the reigning queen of Israeli music. Here’s a preview.
Still in heavy rotation with “Yassu” – her collaboration with Static and Ben El Tavori along with Stephane Legar – Eden has been named female singer of the year four times in a row. It doesn’t look like she’s going anywhere, anytime soon.
That’s your Israeli music news for today! Until next time, I’m Josh Shron, and I’m off to see Rotem Cohen in New York City tonight. Tell you about it next time. Until then, Al Tafsiku Lashir (don’t stop singing).
