This is MyIsraeliMusic.com, I’m Josh Shron, and here’s your Israeli music news for Tuesday, February 26, 2019.
Shiri Maimon in her first major film
From Broadway to the big screen. Shiri Maimon is starring in her first Israeli feature film, and she’s playing a religious woman. She posted some pictures on Instagram of herself on set, and looks pretty good with her hair fully covered! Israeli TV show “Erev Tov Im Guy Pines” reports that Shiri plays Rivki, a 30-year-old widow who is a ba’alat tshuva, one who becomes religious later in life. The movie is called “Mechila,” which means forgiveness. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Ivri Lider’s surprise appearance on El Al
Seems like there’s a trend in Israel for singers to pop up unexpectedly on random El Al flights abroad. Last month, we reported that singer Danny Robas gave a surprise concert on a flight from Tel Aviv to London, and today, Ivri Lider posted a commercial on social media in which he surprised unsuspecting passengers with free tickets to his upcoming concert in Caesaria.
When I fly, I tend to get a cramped seat and a screaming kid next to me. Why doesn’t this fun stuff ever happen when I’m on a plane?
