Shlomo Artzi to celebrate 50 years…with some famous friends
Without question, Shlomo Artzi has been one of the most successful Israeli artists for 50 years. Well this summer, he’s celebrating that incredible milestone with a pair of concerts at LivePark in Rishon L’tzion. And wait until you hear about the lineup of special guests he’s inviting to join in the celebration: On Thursday, August 15th, Shlomo welcomes Shalom Hanoch, Rita, David Broza, Haim Moshe, and Nathan Goshen. On Saturday, August 17th, joining Shlomo on stage will be Amir Dadon, Dikla, Ishay Ribo, Mosh Ben Ari, Nurit Galron, and Shimon Buskila. They’ll all be there to celebrate five decades of Shlomo Artzi. Wow – get your tickets today.
Shalom Hanoch and Matti Caspi collaborate on new song
Back in the fall, Israeli music legends Shalom Hanoch and Matti Caspi joined forces for a series of joint concerts all over Israel. They sold out each show they scheduled, and now they’re back for more. This week they released a new song, loosely based on words from the biblical prophet Ezekiel. This is called “Shiv’at Yamim.”
It’s an unlikely pairing, don’t you think? Matti Caspi is a lot more, well, mellow than Shalom Hanoch…but the public loves it. Wishing the best of luck to two icons of Israeli music.
SodaStream’s New Musical Anthem: “Bubbles of Hope”
And finally, the SodaStream headquarters in Israel has long been a shining example of tolerance and co-existence. They employ thousands of Jews and Arabs who get along just fine, and they’re hoping their message of peace can find its way out of their factory and into the rest of the Middle East. So the other night, as SodaStream hosted a Ramadan break fast for Arabs and Jews, they debuted their new musical anthem, “Bubbles of Hope”.
The theme of the interfaith break fast was “make soda, not war”, and this year’s Hakochav Haba runner up Kitriyah provided additional musical entertainment. Just beautiful. And they still call Israel an apartheid state…
