Noam Kleinstein Is the Newest Kleinstein To Join the Israeli Music Biz
Former husband and wife Rita and Rami Kleinstein have both been mainstays of the local music scene for more than 30 years. Well now, it seems they’re passing the torch to a new generation. We’ve already told you about their oldest daughter Meshi’s recent collaboration with Eli Botner, and now their younger daughter Noam has a brand new song of her own. This is “Hinei Hu Chozer”.
Pretty impressive, too, that Noam herself wrote the music and lyrics, AND played the piano. But really, would you expect anything less from this talented musical family? Now if only we could talk her parents into getting back together…
Miri Mesika Jumps Into the National Political Debate
Miri Mesika is the latest celebrity to jump into the political fire during this volatile election season in Israel.
Now, we really don’t like to talk about politics on this show, but last week we reported on the social media war between Prime Minister Netanyahu and actress Rotem Sela. So Rotem criticized the government on Instagram, then Netanyahu fired back, then EVERYONE began to add their 2 cents, including Harel Skaat, Gal Gadot, and President Reuven Rivlin – who was not at all pleased with the Prime Minister’s remarks. Then Yair Netanyahu, son of Bibi, fired back at the President, and then Miri Mesika felt compelled to speak out. Got it?
In a nutshell, Miri was lamenting the lack of respectful political debate. She wrote, “It’s not possible that every person who says something that does not conform to the prevailing opinion receives threats to his life, and violent and ugly reactions.” Criticizing the Prime Minister, she longed for a leader who, “Even though he does not agree with what has been said, he welcomes the possibility of holding a discussion, that it is okay and desirable for citizens to express diverse opinions.” Within minutes, of course, there were thousands of responses to Miri’s post, for and against. Oy. The saga continues.
Ninet Tayeb is going to Woodstock!
And finally, Ninet Tayeb is going to Woodstock! 2019 marks 50 years since the legendary music festival took place in upstate New York, and Ninet yesterday was thrilled to announce that she will be part of the 50th anniversary festival lineup in August. Some of Ninet’s co-stars at Woodstock include Jay-Z, Miley Cyrus, Imagine Dragons, and Santana, plus a number of artists who performed at the original Woodstock, 50 years ago.
