The Israeli Navy Sings The Beatles
We all know that Israel’s military plays a very serious and important role in maintaining the safety and security of the state of Israel. But every so often, it’s fun to get a glimpse of their playful side. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Israel’s submarine unit, the members of that unit released a fun new video of themselves singing the Beatles’ classic, “Yellow Submarine”.
The release of the video also happens to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the iconic song.
Ninet Tayeb Covers Joni Mitchell’s “Woodstock”
A couple of months ago, we reported that Ninet Tayeb would perform at the 50th anniversary of Woodstock this August, and you can just tell, she cannot wait. So to get ready, Ninet released a cover of the 1970 Joni Mitchell song, “Woodstock”. But Ninet’s version couldn’t be more different from the original, which sounded like this.
And Ninet Tayeb’s version? Get ready to rock.
Woodstock’s 50th anniversary celebration takes place at the original Woodstock site August 16th through the 19th, with Ninet is scheduled to perform on the first day, Friday, August 16th.
Moshe Peretz sings at his brother’s wedding
Mazal tov to Moshe Peretz on the recent marriage of his younger brother, Nir! The wedding took place last week. Of course, when you have a famous brother like Moshe Peretz, you’re going to ask him to sing at the wedding. Moshe was happy to oblige, and now the song he sang under the chuppah is a new single for the popular singer.
The song is called “Yaffa B’lavan”, with the video recorded, presumably, at Nir’s wedding. I wouldn’t be surprised if we start hearing the song at other weddings throughout the country.
