Israeli Kids (and Idan Raichel) React To “Shevet Achim Va’achayot”

Cuteness Alert! Galgalatz radio recently brought together a group of young Israeli kids, and asked them questions about 2019’s hottest Israeli song, “Shevet Achim Va’achayot” (a tribe of brothers and sisters).

Kids say the darndest things, don’t they? If your Hebrew’s decent, you’re sure to enjoy the kids’ answers to various questions about the song. For example, “Have you ever traveled ’70 years in a car’?” “What does ‘shevet’ (tribe) mean?” “Were you ever at one of the ‘parties of Tel Aviv’?” (“Well, we were at a brit milah once…”) “When it says ‘v’otach ani lo ozev’ (and you, I will never leave)…to whom is the song referring?” (“His wife?”) “Which singer was missing from the song?” (Stephane Legar, Omer Adam, Noa Kirel, the late Uzi Hitman, Katy Perry, Billie Eilish, “Anna and Elsa”).

Then, Galgalatz decided to surprise the kids with a special visit by Idan Raichel, composer of the song.

Now it was time for the kids to ask the questions of Idan. “Are you in the song?” “What’s your favorite line?” “How long did it take you to write the melody?” And, my personal favorite, “are you rich from this song?”

Enjoy this adorable new video about everyone’s favorite Israeli song!
