The jury has spoken…and Eden Golan will represent Israel in the upcoming 2024 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden.
As part of tonight’s finale of “HaKochav Haba” (The Next Star), the reality television show in which Israel’s representative is selected, Eden beat out finalists Or Cohen and Mika Moshe to win her ticket to Malmo.
Eden wowed the judges from her very first performance of the season, as she auditioned with an inspiring performance of the song “Rise Up”:
In the show’s finale, Eden’s final performance was Aerosmith’s “Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”, which she dedicated to the hostages held in Gaza after being declared winner of the season.
Born in Israel, Eden moved with her family to Russia at the age of six, and remained there for 13 years. She moved back to Israel nearly two years ago.
Eden’s Eurovision song has not yet been selected. It will be chosen by an internal committee to be announced in March. Songwriters can still submit songs through February 11. One thing we do know is that it will include Hebrew lyrics as a show of national pride during this difficult year.
Here’s one more Eden Golan song to give you a feel for her vocal abilities. Good luck to Eden Golan in Eurovision 2024!
