Eden Ben Zaken’s Musical Collaboration With…Benjamin Netanyahu?

Who saw THIS coming? Israeli singer Eden Ben Zaken is one of Israel’s top entertainers and a former “X Factor” winner. Benjamin Netanyahu is the Prime Minister of Israel. This Chanukah, they’re teaming up to help Israel’s elderly…in song.

Their musical collaboration is a new version of Arik Einstein’s “Yesh Bi Ahava” (I Have Love In Me).

The new duet and accompanying music video reminds Israelis to assist seniors navigate the challenges of Coronavirus, especially during a potentially lonely Chanukah.

“In the Corona period, the most severe and hidden epidemic is the loneliness that seniors experience,” organizers wrote. “Many experience fear, terror, and are left alone at home, away from their immediate family and many hobbies, due to being part of the at-risk population.”

Advocating For Israel’s Senior Population

Proceeds from the song will be donated to “Ken L’zaken”, an organization that advocates for the elderly. “Ken Lazaken aims at defending the rights of seniors in Israel in the public and personal spheres, according to the NGO’s website,” The Jerusalem Post writes. “The organization is run by volunteers, who are all pensioners and experts in the rights of the elderly.

Netanyahu tweeted: “I was thrilled to enlist with the amazing singer Eden Ben Zaken to perform the song ‘Yesh Bi Ahava’ to raise funds for the Ken LaZaken organization that assists with the well-being of the elderly. I am excited to see the younger generation showing up, in accordance with health guidelines, for the sake of grandparents, for the sake of populations grappling with loneliness. I call on everyone who can to join in this effort,” he added. “There are vaccines for the coronavirus, but there is no vaccine for loneliness. It’s in our hands.”

This isn’t the first time Netanyahu’s teamed up with a musical superstar, however. In September, the Prime Minister teamed up with singer Noa Kirel to promote Coronavirus safety during the High Holiday period.
