If you had no connection to Hebrew or the State of Israel…do you think you’d listen to Israeli music?
Meet Brian Velez, a prominent YouTuber who reviews and reacts to music from around the world. It’s not unusual for Brian to reach hundreds of thousands of people with a single video, so his impressions of the music he reviews carry a lot of weight.
After critiquing the music of dozens of other countries, Brian finally got around to our beloved Israel. Not sure how he came to select the songs he did, but let’s just say…he was blown away by what he heard.
Here are the songs he covered:
- Subliminal – Ten LaMuzika Ledaber (let the music speak)
“What a cool guy! He’s a straight shooter.” - Netta Barzilai – Bassa Sababa
“The freaking energy inside of this song? Priceless.” - Monica Sex – Maka Afora (Gray Blow)
“I love it…it has all the elements to a great rock song.” - Sarit Hadad – Bli SheBikashti (Without Me Asking)
“Bless this girl’s voice…angelic!” - Assaf Avidan – Reckoning Song
“It kept me captivated…very unique tone, not for everybody.”
So glad Brian could discover what we already know…that Israeli music is as fun and diverse as can be, and it’s stars are insanely talented!
But here’s YOUR challenge:
If you could suggest some Israeli songs for Brian to review instead…what would they be? Who are the most talented Israeli singers, and who represents Israeli music perfectly? Let us know in the comments!
