A Very Tiny Taste of Israel’s 2019 Eurovsion Entry

Israel’s 22-second teaser for “Home” by Kobi Marimi, Israel’s entry to Eurovision 2019

I can’t remember the last time there was SO much anticipation for Israel’s annual entry to the Eurovision Song Contest. But with Kobi Marimi’s entry “Home” scheduled to debut on Sunday, March 10 – and Israel hoping to defend its Eurovision crown for a second straight year – fans around the world are losing patience.

Well, relief is on the way. That is, if you can call 22 seconds “relief”?

Earlier today, Israel released a teaser of the song that will premiere on Sunday. In it, we see and hear Kobi Marimi singing what sounds like a slow chant. That’s it. No lyrics. Not much of anything, really…but just a tiny taste of the artistic direction of the song.

OK, we’ll bite. At first glance, it’s hard to imagine this song sweeping voters off their feet like Netta and “Toy” did last year. “Toy” was flamboyant, odd, inspiring, colorful, and fun…quite the opposite of what this song APPEARS to be.

But then again, we HATED “Toy” when we first heard it. So anything goes.
